I received a phone message on Sunday evening (July 13th) about a previously unnamed road to be named in honor of Mrs. Ruby Woods Carter on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. I naturally became very interested and concerned about its location and strategic importance.

The Dillon Garden Club held its last spring meeting in the “Carolina Community” at the home of Bo and Patti McInnis.
Last meeting Pineland Grange discussed red water. The red water discussion was intended for public education, not for use in water management.

The city parks in Dillon were a topic at recent meetings of the Dillon City Council. There are four city parks in Dillon – Elizabeth Lane, Eighth Avenue, Maple, and West Calhoun.
Dillon District Four will be getting school-based reading coaches as outlined in Proviso 1.88. Gordon Elementary School, South Elementary School, and Stewart Heights Elementary School will get full-time reading coaches.
The evening of June 5th, the Latta Rotary Club held a fundraiser hosted by Club members Cindy and LaFon LeGette at their home on Dothan Road.
