Admin 2William Monroe “Catfish” Powers, 55, died at his home in Latta, SC, December 3, 2010. Visitation will be held in Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta, Saturday December 4, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Sunday December 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel in Latta with burial in Tarte Cemetery
Admin 2At a called meeting of the Dillon County Council on Tuesday afternoon, the council voted 4-2 to terminate the rollover provision in County Administrator David Mobley’s contract. The vote came after a nearly hour long executive session.

Members of Southern States’ Board of Directors, stockholders and guests were given an overview of the cooperative’s performance during fiscal 2010, which ended in June.
