Dear Editor:
As the school year draws to an end, I’d like to take this time to bring attention to one of the programs offered at Dillon High School. The JROTC program. I have heard of this program but didn’t realize the impact it can have on the students. I have two involved this year; one for both semesters and the other for the last semester.
ORANGEBURG – The South Carolina Independent School Association recently sponsored a STEM Workshop for its member schools.
SCISA Executive Director Larry Watt said that Bambi Eggert, Amanda Mussman, and Heather Peeler, faculty members at Dillon Christain School, completed the event where participants experienced innovative methods to integrate engineering design process into their STEM curriculum.
On Sunday, June 3, 2018, deputies with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to McLeod Medical Center in Dillon in reference to a male victim in the emergency room for treatment from being stabbed, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.

The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club and the Harmon Park Birds visited East Elementary School on May 11, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.
The Harmon Park birds “flew” in to the school and Glenda Campbell read a book entitled, “My Forever Home” written by a member of The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club.
