Editorial: Efforts Worthy Of Note

In the past couple of weeks since the hurricane, we have all seen so many people step up to the plate to help serve the community and restore some normalcy to the lives of those affected by the storm. We have seen law enforcement, first responders, disaster preparedness officials, Red Cross workers, and many others very visible in our community.

US-301 Bridge To Be Closed Nov. 4-7

The US-301 bridge between I-95 and SC-9 in Dillon, is being closed with detours set up from November 4, 2016 after school is out until November 7, 2016 for bridge construction that will be going on in this area.

McLellan Charged In Double Murder, Arson

Treyon McLellan of Dillon has been charged with two counts of murder and arson second degree by the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and SLED for the deaths of Ja’Uan Johnson and Nicolette Blue, both of Dillon,  according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.

Grady Sports, Jr.

Grady Sports, Jr., 75, died Monday, October 31, 2016 at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Latta Southern Methodist Church with interment in Magnolia Cemetery.
