The Pilot Club of Dillon met on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at The City of Dillon Fire Department. 12 members were present.
In celebration of South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services 75th Anniversary a Wellness Walk was held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Dillon Wellness Center.
The local Emergency Planning Committee of Dillon County met on September 22nd at a local restaurant.
As a lifelong citizen of Dillon County, who was born and reared in Newtown, the most heavily black populated section of the county, the curious and historical part of my mind has often pondered the thought of who were the most important people in the founding and development of Dillon County, especially the city of Dillon.
Former Dillon resident Jeffrey C. Bozard became Commander of the 113th Wing, the Capital Guardians, and was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General.
As of October 12, the City of Dillon is still in recovery mode from the devastation left by Hurricane Matthew.
