Georgia State University Singers member Ricky Roberts, of Latta, participated in a performance that won the singers first place this June at the 15th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf 2017 in Marktoberdorf, Germany.
The Sixth Annual Scholarship Musical was held on May 6, 2017, at Open Door Community Church where Dr. Rick Rogers is the pastor. Dr. Rogers gave the welcome and introduced the Mistress of Ceremony, Dr. Miranda Manning, Counselor at Dillon School District Four.
Lorene Arnette, of Dillon has been awarded three ribbons for her quilt entered in the 2017 Swamp Fox Quilters Guild Challenge, “Granny’s Block Today.”
A very receptive audience enjoyed Dillon Historic School Foundation’s presentation of “An Evening with James Stephens III, Comedian” at the Ellis Performing Arts Center in Latta on April 28th.
Mayor Todd Davis reported at a recent meeting that the Father-Daughter Dance was a great success.
The Parris Island Marine Band sponsored by the Dillon County Council performed “A Christmas Spectacular” at the Ellis Performing Arts Center in Latta, S.C., on Monday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Davis spoke about the Dillon County Theatre being flooded at a recent Dillon City Council meeting. He said he had reached out to the Dillon County Council to decide what can be done.
The Dillon County Theatre has been awarded an $1829 operating support for small organizations grant by the South Carolina Arts Commission for the 2016-17 fiscal year.
