The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club took a day trip to Green Sea, SC on July 14th. The group of nine members took a tour of the Harrelson’s Historical 1882 home. Members toured the different rooms full of antiques through the generations.
Following up the regular agenda-filled July meeting, DHSF members found it necessary to schedule a workshop on July 21 to agree on changes and to finalize the DHSF brochure.
The Criterion Club held the Debutante Pageant for 2015 at the Criterion Center in Dillon, South Carolina with the beautiful, efficient Miss Sherenna Thompson introduced by Sister LaMecisa Bethea serving as Mistress of Ceremony.
The Dillon Historic School Foundation held its monthly meeting on June 2, at the Chamber of Commerce Office in Dillon.
The Dillon County 4-H Shooting Sports Club had 17 members to attend the South Carolina 4-H State Championship Sporting Clay competition at the Palmetto Shooting Complex in Edgefield, SC, on June 13th.
Dillon County Administrator Clay Young and Dillon County Council Chairman T.F. “Buzzy” Finklea, Jr. were recently the guest speakers at the Latta Rotary Club meeting.
Eighteen members of the Glove and Trowel Garden Club met on April 8, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Dillon Wellness Center with Rosemary Bethea as hostess.
Through the aid of the Public Works Administration, the Dillon High School has secured a new gymnasium, auditorium, classrooms, a home economics department, and the remodeling of the old building.
The Yellow Jessamine Garden Club met at the home of Frances Tyler on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. Cathy McDaniel opened up the meeting with prayer.
