Last month, the South Carolina State Supreme Court ruled the General Assembly had failed in its constitutional duty to provide students in eight impoverished schools districts with an opportunity to receive a “minimally adequate education,” and ordered it to identify and solve the problems.
A number of items were discussed at the Dillon City Council’s December meeting.
Two outgoing Dillon County Councilmen were recognized on Wednesday for their service to the county.
Mayor Page opened the meeting by welcoming everyone. He noted for the record that the following Town Council members were present.
The Dillon County Council passed a resolution recently asking that the General Assembly increased the allocation to the local government fund.
