On Sunday, August 23,  the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Bay Catfish Road in Latta in reference to an assault, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.

Jobless Rate Decreases

South Carolina’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased for the second consecutive month from 6.6 percent in June to 6.4 percent in July, which matches the unemployment rate from July 2014.

Law Enforcement Investigating Car Break-Ins

Local law enforcement agencies including the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Dillon Police Department, and the Latta Police Department are investigating a number of vehicle break-ins that have been occurring the past few months, but that have hit the Latta area particularly hard in the past few days.
