Conyers Joins Coalition Of Sailors Against Destructive Decisions
Navy Lt. Shelley Conyers, whose husband, Andre, is the son of Denise Conyers of Dillon, S. C. and Junior Blakley, of Dillon, and fellow Sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65) formed a Coalition of Sailors Against Destructive Decisions (CSADD) committee.

Sales Tax Holiday Begins August 3rd

Unemployment Rate Increases
South Carolina’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 9.4 percent in June from 9.1 percent in May. This is the second consecutive rise in the rate, but is well below the June 2011 rate of 10.5 percent.

Local Law Enforcement Officers Undergo Taser Training
Latta, Dillon County, and Dillon City law enforcement officers who needed to be certified to carry a taser were part of a joint training held at the Latta Police Department last week.
