Dixie Youth Majors: Dillon Meat Center Reds Inch Closer to Second Half Title

The Dillon Meat Center Reds inched closer to taking the second half title in the Dillon Kiwanis Dixie Youth Baseball program by defeating the Internal Medicine Hurricanes, 10-4, Friday evening. With two games left to play in the regular season, a win by the Reds (6-1) or one loss by the Hurricanes (3-3) and the Dillon Family Dental Giants (3-3) will send the Reds into a best of three games play-off tournament with the first half Champions James Lockemy Justice Rangers on Monday.

Dixie Youth Roundup: Giants and Reds Tied at Top of Major League

Corbin Wethington’s ground out in the bottom of the first inning sent Hunter Lane home with the eventual winning run as the Dillon Family Dental Giants edged the Dillon Meat Center Reds 2-1 on Friday night and both teams find themselves tied at the top of the Major League standings in the second half of the season.

City Manager Answers Questions About Golf Course

Dillon City Manager Glen Wagner recently answered several questions submitted to him about the golf course project the city is undertaking. The lease has been signed, and the city takes over on June 1. At this time, the county has not committed to assist the city in the project.
