Latta Head Coach Daniel Little has been named the Class A Coach of the Year and four players from Latta and Lake View have been named All State by the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association.
Noah Henderson came to within two batters of pitching a perfect no-hit game Thursday evening at the Michael Lecholop Kiwanis Park as the Dillon Meat Center Reds blanked the Dillon Family Dental Giants, 4-0, in Major League action.
The Family Sports Center Skeeter Hawks defeated Mullins 6-5 and 3-2 on Thursday, May 16, in recreation softball action.
A truly remarkable season that started on the practice fields in late February in Latta ended Friday night at Spring Valley High School in Columbia with the St. Joseph’s Catholic School Knights of Greenville defeating the Latta High School Vikings 10-0.

The Latta Vikings defeated the St. Joseph’s Catholic Knights 5-3 on Monday night in the first round of the Class A Varsity Baseball State Championship Series.
The Latta Vikings advanced through the first round of lower state playoffs on Friday, May 3, with a 6-1 win over East Clarendon and continued on through the playoffs to the Class A State Baseball Championship series.
Latta’s Lady Vikings battled East Clarendon for a 5-1 loss in the first round of the lower state playoffs on Saturday, May 4, and were eliminated by the Lady Wolverines in the lower state championship on Friday, May 10.
