Latta’s Lady Vikings went into the playoffs as the top-ranked Class A team in the state with an undefeated record in Region 8A. But in the opening round of the Lower State playoffs, they met their match in the Carvers Bay Bears.

Local Students, Coaches Named to All-Region Teams
Latta’s Tianna Deberry was named Region 8A Player of the Year and Dillon’s Tyshanna Lester was named Region 8-2A’s Co-Player of the Year, while Dillon coaches Harold Wilson and Shawn Johnson were each named Region 8-2A Co-Coaches of the Year in the recent All-Region announcements.
