The state football championships began on Friday night, with Lake Marion advancing through the first round to face Dillon this Friday night at 7:30.
The Carolina Hotstix 99 team recently won the 14U CSA Great Pumpkin Fall Brawl fastpitch softball tournament at Freedom Florence. The team went undefeated in eight games to take first place.
