After suffering an 11-2 loss to Lake View on Friday, March 25, the Latta Vikings hosted Johnsonville on Tuesday, March 29, for their second loss of the season, falling to the Flashes 5-1.

John Kever Love was the losing pitcher for Latta. Love went all seven innings, allowing five runs, one earned, four hits, and one walk, striking out five.

Latta’s leading hitters were Donell Stanley, 2-for-3, and Ben Scott, 2-for-3.

Latta’s regular season record falls to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in Region 8-A.

Last week’s rainy conditions played havoc with the springs sports schedules, and the Vikings were no exception. According to Latta’s athletic director Michael Rogers, they were originally scheduled to host Creek Bridge on Friday, April 1, but that game was moved to Thursday, March 31, before it was finally canceled due to the weather.

Hopefully, things will be dried out and ready to go tonight when Latta is scheduled to host Carvers Bay at 5:30 p.m. The two teams were previously scheduled to meet on March 11, but that game was rained out as well.
