Services for Viola Hood was held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of God of Prophecy with burial in Pee Dee Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation were held 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Hood, 59, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at her niece’s residence.
Born in Maxton, NC, July 17, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Nosroe Oxendine and Kathleen Barton Oxendine.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Hood of Blenheim; sons, Donald Oxendine of Blenheim and Anthony James Oxendine of Latta; grandsons, Isaac and Christopher Oxendine; sisters and brothers, Sara Catherine Satterfield of Hartsville, TN, Eugene Oxendine of Dillon, Herbert Oxendine of Little Rock, Nelfice Butler, and Annie Sue Oxendine, both of Dillon, Alice Feagin of Lake View, Nosroe Oxendine, Jr., and Ellen Oxendine, both of Dillon, and Antonio Oxendine of Latta; mother and father-in-law, Nick and Anna Hood of Blenheim.
Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, James Oxendine, John Willie Oxendine, and her sisters, Mary Helen Boltin, and Mary Lee Meares.
