Linda Gonzales-Battle has been named the Dillon County Coordinator for the Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Assault.
Battle has over 10+ years of experience in assisting domestic and sexual assault victims. She has completed victim advocacy training and has served as a shelter night/relief worker for the Pee Dee Coalition.
From 2001-2011, she worked at the Dillon County Department of Social Services. She has also been employed by Henkels and McCoy as a job coach/coordinator/developer and by Monumental Life Insurance Company.
Battle took this position because she enjoys helping people. Battle said she hopes that victims of domestic and sexual assault and violence will visit the office and take advantage of the services they have to offer. She said they should not be afraid to come in.
She will be conducting various activities in coming months to raise awareness in the community. She is also trying to get a support group going.
Battle said they are in great need of responsible, dedicated volunteers. For more information on how to volunteer, please contact her.
