Latta High School has been awarded a Bronze medal in the 2012 US News & World Report’s sixth annual list of America’s Best High Schools.
This is the sixth year that Latta High School has been recognized in this national ranking.
The magazine and its partner in the rankings project, School Evaluation Services, examined nearly 21,000 public high schools nationwide. US News uses a three-step process that analyzes how schools are educating all of their students, minority and disadvantaged students’ achievement, and finally college-bound student scores on state tests, Advanced Placement exams and International Baccalaureate tests. The 100 high schools with the highest college readiness scores were ranked and awarded gold medals, and the next 463 top-performing schools earned silver medals. Bronze honors went to 1,189 schools. The state had two schools made the silver list this year and 20 schools made the bronze list.
