Richard Dean Blasser, 85, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday in Dillon First Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 10:00 -11:00 A.M. Friday at the  church prior to the service.
Born in York County, PA, he was the son of the late Wilmur Gary Blasser and Louise Grace Schuman Blasser.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, member of the Dillon First Baptist Church, and was a retired manager with A & P Stores.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel S. Blasser of Dillon; children, Richard D. (Jayne Snyder) Blasser of Lake Mary, FL,  John D. (Colleen) Blasser of Leavenworth, KS,  Fran B. Dennis of Roanoke, VA and Mary B. (Dr. Michael N.) Brown of Dillon; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sister, Joanne B. Yancey of Richmond, VA.
