Mrs. Ruby Moore Lewis, 79, widow of Melvin Moore, died Saturday, February 24, 2013 at Carolinas Hospital System of Marion after an illness.
Mrs. Lewis, a loving mother and grandmother, was born November 1, 1933 in Mullins, a daughter of the late Bernie and Kate Lewis Rogers. She was a homemaker and attended Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Lewis are: her Children: Alice M. Cottingham of Latta, John D. Moore of Mullins, Linda Kay M. (Archie) Poston of Florence, Ralph Bernie Moore of Florence and Bobby Moore of North Charleston; her Grandchildren: Kim P. Hayes of Latta, Scott Parker of Raleigh, NC, Toby Wellington of Myrtle Beach, Farabe Algore of Frisco, TX, Penny Lane of Bennettsville, John M. Moore of Hamer, Rebecca Ann Moore of Atlanta, GA, Benjamin T. Moore of Mullins, Melvin J. Moore of Ft. Benning, GA, Allison Moore of Dillon, Luke Moore of Hamer, Stacey Moore of Bennetsville, Dawn Moore of Florence and Shelly Moore of Florence; 20 Great Grandchildren; a Sister: Myrtle (Fred) Martin of Aynor; and a Brother: John “Buddy” (Effie) Rogers of Murrells Inlet. Mrs. Lewis was predeceased by a daughter, Fran Kate Patrick and two sons, Luke Moore and David Moore.
Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Monday, February 25, at Midway Cemetery, with Rev. Neil Hinson officiating. The services were directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
