Nan Berry Moody, 90, passed away at her daughter’s home in Darlington, SC, May 5, 2013. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Church prior to the service. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.
Mrs. Moody was born in Latta, SC September 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Andrew Frank and Sue Coward Berry. She was the widow of Livingston Thornwell Moody. She taught Sunday School over fifty-five years, was a member of the Young at Heart, and worked with the Girl’s Auxiliary of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she was a member. She was also a member of the Woodmen of the World. She owned Moody’s Washerette and Grocery before her retirement.
She is survived by her son, William Berry Moody (Lynette) and daughter, Linda Moody Brunson (Jim) both of Darlington, SC; sister, Ruth B. Harrellson of Moyock, NC; and grandchildren, Elizabeth P. “Page” Moody and James P. “Jay” Brunson IV. She was predeceased by her brother Henry Wilson Berry.
