Mrs. Kathleen Smith Sox passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at her home in Dillon after an illness.
 
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at Union United Methodist Church of Lake View, with burial to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Dillon, SC.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.
 
Mrs. Sox was born in Dillon County, the daughter of the late Hardy Jake and Lela Arnette Smith.  She was a graduate of Winthrop College and held a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from USC. From 1958 until she retired, she served in the Lake View School District as both a teacher and guidance counselor.
 
Surviving Mrs. Sox is her Son, Robert Sox of the home; daughter in law, Jean (John) Sox of Dillon; granddaughter, Fabiola Reyes of the home.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, JW Sox and son, John Sox.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union United Methodist Church of Lake View.
