Mrs. Mattie Rogers died Saturday, December 14, 2013, in her home in Lake View, SC, after an illness.
A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Lake View, with burial to follow at Lake View Cemetery.  The family receive dfriends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on December 15, 2013 at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.
Mrs. Mattie was born in Dillon County, the daughter of the late Rome and Laler Scott Church.  She was a member of Kemper Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 68 years (one of God’s greatest gifts).  She worked and retired as a cafeteria supervisor for Lake View Schools. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She was also a professional seamstress where she voluntarily provided alterations to family and friends.
Mrs. Mattie is survived by her son, Ernest Craig Rogers (Bettina) of Fayetteville, NC; daughters, Sylvia Kay Wrenn, Linda Darnell Flowers (Jimmy), Kathy Laverne Berry (Tommy Ray) and Karen Ann Snipes (Peter), all of Lake View; sister, Nettie Scott of Dillon, SC; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, Barfield Rogers.
