Watt Byrd, 63, husband of Sharon Boan Byrd, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Carolinas Hospital System of Florence.
Watt was born December 8, 1950 in Marion County, a son of the late Harley S. Byrd, Sr. and the late Sally Herring Byrd. He was a truck driver for Gildan-Anvil Knitwear and was a US Navy veteran.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: his Children: Jeffery Wyatt Byrd, Sr., Christopher L. Byrd, Shannon DeNure Byrd and Justin Rankin; his favorite Daughter-in-Law: Laura; his Grandchildren: Shannon Cook, Jeffery Wyatt Byrd, Jr., Brittany Byrd, Enos Patton, Jesse Patton, Samantha Patton and Lily Byrd; his great- grandchildren: Nathan, Cage and Cora; his brothers and sisters: Harley “Buddy” Byrd, Jr., Bryce Byrd, Sylvia Askins, Tammy Strawn and Wanda Knight; and several other children who considered themselves his “kids.”
Watt was predeceased by a son, Rodney Allen Byrd and 2 sisters, Isabella and Evelyn.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4. at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
