COLUMBIA—Memorial service for Wallace Walker Gaddy, 66, will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4440 Fort Jackson Blvd., Columbia SC 29209. The family will receive friends at the home anytime.
Walker passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Born in Dillon and reared in Latta, he was a son of the late John McLean Gaddy and Annie Grace Sellers Gaddy. He was a graduate of A.C. Flora High School and the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy. Walker was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War where he was a hospital corpsman.
Walker was a pharmacist with Medicine Mart of Lexington and a community actor with Shakespeare Company, Town Theatre and Workshop Theatre.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Mary Laurence Palmer Gaddy; daughters, Anne Grace Gaddy Brasington (Gerald) of Columbia, Mary “Palmer” Gaddy (fiance, Jeremy Copeland) of Columbia; grandchildren, Allen and Sybil Brasington. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Sybil Anne Gaddy Ard and brother, John McLean “Mack” Gaddy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Town Theatre, 1012 Sumter St., Columbia SC 29201.
