Dillon’s Lady Wildcats earned a 12-1 win over the Loris Lions in five innings on Friday night in varsity softball action.

Taylor Price earned the win on the mound, pitching five innings and facing 21 batters for one walk, one run, and one hit by pitch while striking out five. Price improved to 4-0 on the mound so far this season.

Loris’s Joseph took the loss, pitching five innings for 15 hits, 10 earned runs, and one walk, striking out three.

At bat for the Wildcats, Auh’Keria Smiling went 3-for-3 with one RBI, a stolen base, and two runs scored; Rebecca Callahan went 3-for-4 with a double, a RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs scored; Tara Grimsley went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, four RBI, and two runs scored; Shaquailla German went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a stolen base, and one run scored; Erin Bailey went 2-for-4; Leah McMillan went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored; Shayna Covington picked up one RBI and stole a base; and Shar’Asia Samuel scored one run.

In the field, Shaquailla German made four put outs and Shar’Asia Samuel made two, with Shayna Covington, Tara Grimsley, Erin Bailey, Rebecca Callahan, and Taylor Price each making one. Taylor Price also made four assists and Erin Bailey added one.

Dillon improved to 7-2 overall and are now 4-0 in Region 8-2A.

The Lady Wildcats are scheduled to host Waccamaw tonight at 6:30 p.m. and Carolina Forest on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. before traveling to Marion on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
