Barbara Frances Hollis Henderson, 77, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence.
Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Main Street United Methodist Church with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation was held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.., prior to the service.
Mrs. Henderson was born in Chester, SC, June 8, 1936, the daughter of the late Robert Henri and Ethel Frances Potts Hollis. She was the widow of George Marion Henderson, Jr. She was retired from the Dillon County Library System. Her activities as a member at Main Street United Methodist Church included: the Prayer Shawl Ministry and George Taylor Sunday School Class. Her many civic organizations included: Etudier Club, Mamie Lane Circle, Glove and Trowel Garden Club, McLeod Auxiliary, Brownie Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Joy Club, and Bridge Club. She also attended the aerobics at the Dillon County Council of Aging.
She is survived by her son, David T. Henderson (Vicky) of Easley, SC; daughters, Marian H. McLaurin (Charlie) of Dillon, SC, and Susan H. LaMontagne (Frank) of Duncan, SC; five grandchildren; brothers, Bill N. Hollis (Marti) of Breckenridge, TX, and T. Richard Hollis (Penny) of Chester, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son.
