The Dillon County Board of Education took up several matters at their June meeting.
The board heard reports on the 2014-2015budgets from the Latta Schools, Dillon District Four, the Dillon County Technology Center, and the County Board. All budgets were approved.
The John Dollison law enforcement scholarship was discussed.
A homeschool student, who participated in Dillon High School activities, wants to apply for the scholarship, but the rules state that it must go to a Dillon High School, Latta High School, or Lake View High School graduate. They will try to get clarification on the family’s intent. The request will be turned over to the committee.
The board received an update on the school facilities construction projects.
The board voted to allow Chairman Richard Schafer tot attend a meeting at the South Carolina Department of Archives and History on the National Historic Register.
