Services for Alvra Hopkins were held Monday July 14, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.   Visitation was 6-8 Sunday in the funeral home.
Mr. Hopkins, 94. died Friday July 11, 2014 in Pruitt Health Care Center.
Born in Lee County, December 1, 1919, he was the son of the late Dempsey Hopkins and Creola Suggs Hopkins.  He was retired from Caro-Maid Ice Cream Company,  was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of Dillon First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sara C. Hopkins of Dillon; daughter, Janice Welch of Florence; sons, Robert “Bobby” Hopkins of Columbia, and Michael Hopkins of Bennettsville; 5 grandchildren and 9 great granddaughters.
