The Dillon Christian School Warriors rallied in the second half, but a tough first quarter helped the Trinity-Byrnes Titans to a 71-40 win over the Warriors on Tuesday night in varsity basketball action.

The Titans took a 24-6 lead in the first quarter and stayed well ahead of the Warriors for the rest of the game, outscoring Dillon Christian 14-5 in the second to lead 38-11 at halftime. The Warriors rallied for a 15-15 third quarter, but the Titans went 18-14 in the fourth to seal the win.

Matthew Price and Luke Price each added 11 points for the Warriors in the effort. Red Williams added six points; Jim Carr, 5; Michael Minges, 3; Jake Boykin, 2; and Ellison Rourke, 2.

Lanmadrek Brown led Trinity-Byrnes with a game-high 21 points and Tyron McElveen added 13 in the win. McFadden scored nine for the Titans; Jackson, 7; Breeden, 6; Dewitt, 5; Chapman, 4; TJ McElveen, 3; Rials, 2; and Thompson, 1.

Trinity-Byrnes improved to 6-2 with the win while the Warriors slipped to 0-4.

Dillon Christian will be on the road this Friday to face Williamsburg Academy and will be back home on Monday to host Robert E. Lee Academy with junior varsity action beginning at 4:00 p.m. and varsity following after. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
