In today’s issue, we welcome Dillon County’s newest industry, Wyman-Gordon. It is an exciting time for Dillon County as we grow and progress with this new industry, and it is an exciting time for our workforce as more jobs will be available for the citizens in our county.
This new industry is expected to create 400 new jobs in our community over the next five years and make a $115 million investment with jobs expected to pay $18-20 an hour.
The citizens certainly should appreciate the hard work and efforts by all who worked diligently to bring this industry here and mow its time to celebrate with a groundbreaking today.
However, it is also an appropriate time to remember the industries that we already have here. The ones who have been the backbone of our community for quite some time. So let’s take a moment to recognize the following: Anvil Knitwear, Atlantic Shutters Systems, Blenheim Ginger Ale, Charles Craft, Inc., David’s–Franco Mfg., Dillon Furniture , Dillon Provision, Dillon Yarn, Diversified Plastics, Expert Machine & Fabrication, Harbor Freight Tools, Herald Group, Perdue, Ready Mix Concrete, Rock Tenn, Signode, S.C., South of the Border, Vesuvius, Wix and McLeod Medical Center Dillon. Let us also not forget one of our biggest employers, the Dillon County School System.
We appreciate all that these companies and our school system have brought to our community.
