Douglas Rogers, 86, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the McLeod Medical Center Dillon. Funeral services wereheld 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Latta Baptist Church with interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 15 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta.
Mr. Rogers was born March 31, 1928 in Lake View, SC the son of the late Cornie and Donnie Lupo Rogers. He was a member of Latta Baptist Church. He served in the Army and was proud to be a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from a lifetime of farming. He also served as a Deputy Sheriff with Dillon County. He was a Master Mason and a member of Dalcho Lodge. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Grange and the American Legion for many years.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Jaxie Church Rogers of the home; sons Gerald Douglas Rogers (Kathy) and Joel Timothy Rogers (Ruth) both of Latta, SC; daughter Susan Rogers Carter (Ralph) of Latta, SC; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was predeceaased by three brothers and three sisters.
