The Dillon Wildcats traveled to Loris on Tuesday night for an 11-2 win over the Lions in varsity baseball action.
The Wildcats picked up two runs in the top of the second and two more in the fourth for a 4-0 lead. Loris scored in the bottom of the inning to trail 4-1, but the Wildcats brought in six runners in the top of the fifth for a 10-1 lead and added another runner in the top of the seventh. Loris added one run in the bottom of the seventh as the Wildcats claimed the win.
Dillon had 10 hits in the win and gave up four hits.
Loris’s Neil Mincey took the loss, pitching three innings for five hits, two runs, two earned runs, one walk, and one out. Kolin Causey pitched 2.1 innings for one hit and one run, and Austin Causey pitched 1.2 innings for four hits, eight runs, three earned runs, three walks, and two outs.
At bat for the Lions, Timmy Bell went 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored; Kolin Causey went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI; Clay Faircloth went 1-for-3; and Zach Hudson picked up one RBI after reaching on a walk and a hit by pitch.
Dillon is now 6-4 in the regular season with a 5-1 record in Region 8-2A.
The Wildcats will be at East Clarendon tonight and will be back at home on Tuesday to host Mullins at 6:30 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our Wildcats!
