The Pee Dee District Conference of the United Daughters of the Confederacy was held February 6, 2016, at the Pine Lakes Country Club, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Linda Wolfe, Pee Dee Director, presided over the annual meeting. She welcomed everyone and then introduced the Division and General Officers.
President Ann Shugart spoke of her second year and her plans for the Division. She urged all chapters to contribute to the Wounded Warrior Project of Action Trackchairs for Veterans.
The cost of one of these special chairs is $15,000.
The South Carolina Division Convention will be held on October 6-8, 2016, in Charleston at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Becky Dobbins, District Chaplain, conducted the Memorial Service in honor of those District members who died since January 31, 2015. Jimmie Rogers from the Ann Fulmore Harllee Chapter was one of the five who was remembered.
New Officers were elected. Chris Harris of this local chapter is to serve as District Chaplain.
The total attendance from the seven Pee Dee Chapters was 41. The Ann Fulmore Harllee Chapter is to host this conference in 2017. Those who represented this chapter were Joyce Drigges, Phyllis Hagan, Mary Freitas, and Mattie Strickland.
