Services for Earl Edward Lane was held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation was held 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Lane, 86, died Friday, October 7, 2016 at his residence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, May 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Curtis Lane and Jimmie Bridges Lane. He was a member of Hamer Church of God, was retired from SCDOT, and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Rouse Lane of Dillon; children, Debbie (Ed) Harrell of Florence, Kenny (Tammy) Lane of Dillon, and Joyce Preacher of Dillon; 5 grandchildren, Chad Bethea, Matt Bethea, Brandy (Drew) Streett, Ashley (Trey) Rowell, and Justin Inman; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Floyd of Florence; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard, Hovie, and Roy Lane; and his sister, Eva Altman.
