Bonnie Brenda Joye Lewis, 60, widow of Bradley Wayne “Buddy” Lewis, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at her home after an illness.
Mrs. Lewis was born March 1, 1956 in Whiteville, NC, a daughter of the late James W. Joye, Sr. and the late Bonnie Lee Bass Joye Elliott. She was a homemaker and a loving and caring person, who was forever donating to various charities. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Fork Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Lewis are: her Children: Jay Bradley “P.J.” (Margaret) Lewis of Green Sea, Cathy (David) Baxley of Floydale and Amy (Carlton) Hilburn of Fork; her Grandchildren: Kaitlyn Lewis, Hank Baxley, Dixie Baxley, Peyton Hilburn and Summer Hilburn; 2 Brothers: James (Jo-Eve) Joye of Nichols and Michael (Denise) Joye of Augusta, GA; 2 Sisters: Mary Bailey (Jay Osgood) of Nichols and Wanda (Tommie) Johnson of Green Sea; a Special Brother: Albert Lewis of Wagram, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lewis was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Wayne Lewis.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 22, at Lake View Cemetery, with Rev. Joey E. Nelms, Sr. officiating. Services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
