Services for Hilda Johnson Wilkes were held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery officiated by Dr. Richard Alderman and Rev. Chris Alderman.  Visitation was held 2:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilkes, 73, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born in Robeson County, NC, September 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Gary Johnson and Virginia McCormick Johnson.  
She was retired from Wix.  She was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church, and was a graduate of Class of 1961 at Dillon High School.
Survivors include her husband of over 52 years, J. L. Wilkes of Dillon; daughter, Kathy Lane of Dillon; grandchildren, Majestica Lane Hope (Joseph), Malachi Lane, US Navy Washington State, and Micah Garcia of Dillon; great-granddaughter, Malayna Hope; sister, Esther Herring of Dillon; brother, Gary M. Johnson, Jr. (Betty Miles Johnson) of Morganton, NC.
Mrs. Wilkes was predeceased by her sisters, Judy Mizzell and Ava Lee Johnson.
