On Monday, February 19, 2018, the school resource officer at Dillon High School was made aware that there was a social media post threat concerning a school shooting at Dillon High School, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating to determine if a threat was posted on social media, Arnette said.
The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted with this incident by the Dillon Police Department.
The Herald is told that several students did not attend school or were checked out of school once they because aware of the rumored threat.
