On Friday, April 6, 2018 around 11:42 a.m., deputies with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Sarah’s Tobacco on Lester Road in reference to a shooting, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived at the incident location, there were two male victims laying on the ground that had been shot. The victims were transported by Dillon County EMS to McLeod Medical Center in Dillon, and one of the victims was later pronounced dead.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the victim as Eric Dixon, Jr., age 20, of Dillon County. He died of gunshot wounds.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
