The SCDMV temporarily extended the expiration date of some SCDMV products like driver’s licenses, identification cards, temporary parking placards, vehicle registrations, and temporary license plates that were set to expire between March 1, 2020 and June 30, 2020. These extensions will expire on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. All renewals must be completed by June 30, 2020 to avoid late fees and possible suspensions. Vehicles with temporary license plates must be properly titled and registered no more than 45 days after July 1, 2020.
Customers are encouraged to check the SCDMV website at SCDMVonline.com to see if they can complete their transactions online. If not, they can make appointments at SCDMVonline.com to visit branch offices to complete their transactions.
