The Reading Buddy Program is returning for the first time since COVID!!
Latta Elementary School has agreed to re-institute the “Reading Buddy” program this fall.
This is where an adult volunteer will go into the classroom with a one hour per week commitment, and read with a designated student.
The statistics are staggering in that if a student does not reach at least a 3rd grade reading level, their chances of being incarcerated as an adult are over 80%.
To become a volunteer, you’ll need to attend the Reading Buddy Orientation at Latta Elementary School on Thursday, September 15 at 9 a.m.
Simply check in with the front office when you arrive and they’ll direct you to the Orientation classroom.
