The East Clarendon Wolverines defeated the Lake View Lady Wild Gators 5-2 in varsity softball playoff action on Thursday, April 28, in Turbeville.
Brooklyn Fort pitched the complete 7 innings and struck out 13 to claim the victory for the Wolverines. She allowed only 1 hit by Jasmine Ford, 2 runs, and walked 1.
Ally Spivey pitched 6 inning for the Lady Gators and picked up the loss. She allowed 7 hits, 5 runs, walked 4, and struck out 1.
East Clarendon took an early lead with a run scored in the bottom of the first inning.
Lake View countered with l run in the top of the second inning to knot the game at 1. However, East Clarendon picked up to more runs in the bottom of the third and added 2 more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Lake View managed to score l run in the top of the sixth inning to make the final 5-2 with the Wolverines on top.
Kinsley Driggers was 2-3 with a rbi while Gracen Watts also connected on 2 hits in 3 at-bats for the Wolverines.
