The Latta Vikings defeated Scott’s Branch (Summerton, S. C.) 23-0 in a 3-inning varsity baseball game played on Wednesday, April 27, in Latta.
The Vikings’ Cody Anderson and Dylan Brewer combined to pitch a no-hitter while Latta connected for 14 hits and 23 runs  while committing only 1 error. Brewer pitched 2 innings and struck out 5 while Anderson pitched 1 inning and struck out 2. Brewer picked up the win for Latta.
Tyndal pitched 1.1 innings and allowed 6 hits, walked 2, struck out 3, and allowed 10 runs of which 8 were earned while Losesene pitched 0.2 inning and allowed 8 hits, walked 6, and allowed 13 runs of which 8 were earned.
Scott’s Branch committed 4 errors in the game.
The Vikings’ Dalton Lane was perfect at the plate with 2 hits in 2 at-bats with a home run, a single, 3 rbi, and scored 2 runs  while Jordan Hayes connected on a grand slam while going 1-for-2 at the plate and scored a run.
Several of Latta’s hitters were also perfect at the plate including Jonathan Ray who had a double in his one appearance in the game with a rbi and also scored a run. Dylan Brewer connected for a double and a triple in his 2 at-bats while picking up a rbi and scoring a run. Daniel Khalil was 2-for-2 including a single and a double with a rbi and also scored 2 runs. Noah Moody singled in his 1 trip to the plate and also picked up a walk while collecting a rbi and scored 2 runs.
Cledus Williams singled in his 1 at-bat and picked up a rbi. Jackson Powers garnered 2 singles in 3 trips to the plate, 3 rbi, and scored 2 runs. Brady Hatchell walked twice while making 3 plate appearances. McLeod Carmichael singled and picked up a walk in the game. John Malcolm George singled in his 2 at-bats while collecting a rbi and scoring a run.
Colby Lee, Caleb Mishue, Eric McGirt,  and Pierce Watson each scored a run in the game while Deonte Stanley scored 2 runs for the Latta.
Latta is now 23-1 for the season.
The Vikings played  the Branchville/Cross winner in Class A District VII playoffs on Saturday.

The Latta Lady Vikings defeated Scott’s Branch 15-0 in a 3-inning game played in Latta on Wednesday, April 27.
Arica Gandy pitched 2 innings and allowed 1 hit, walked 1, and struck out 3 to get the win.
The Latta Vikings were led by  Madison Owens who  went 3-for-3 including 2 doubles, a triple, and a rbi  while Erica Gandy was perfect at the plate with 2 hits in 2 at-bats including a triple and 3 rbi.
Kaleigh Caulder was perfect at the plate with 3 hits including a double and 2 rbi in her 3 at-bats.
Genesis Anderson connected on 2 hits including a triple and 2 rbi in her 2 trips to the plate while Kyra Grant also garnered 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 2 rbi for Latta.
Latta is 18-7 for the season.
Latta played  Branchville/Magnet in Class A District VII playoffs on Saturday.
