The Latta Vikings defeated the St. Joseph’s Catholic Knights 5-3 on Monday night in the first round of the Class A Varsity Baseball State Championship Series.
The Latta Vikings advanced through the first round of lower state playoffs on Friday, May 3, with a 6-1 win over East Clarendon and continued on through the playoffs to the Class A State Baseball Championship series.
Latta’s Lady Vikings battled East Clarendon for a 5-1 loss in the first round of the lower state playoffs on Saturday, May 4, and were eliminated by the Lady Wolverines in the lower state championship on Friday, May 10.
Dillon’s Lady Wildcats finished first in the 4×100 Meter Relay in the Class AA State Championship Meet on Saturday, May 11, at Lower Richland High School. The team included Dejah Tyson, Justice McLellan, Adriana McCollum, and Jessica Manning.
