Freshman catcher Chelsea Welty homered in both games to help power Francis Marion University to a doubleheader split with Georgia Southwestern State University, Saturday afternoon (March 12) in Peach Belt Conference softball action.  Welty’s two-out solo shot in the top of the fifth broke a 1-1 deadlock and propelled FMU to a 2-1 game-two win after the Hurricanes took the opener 3-1. Welty now leads the team with six homers and 21 runs batted in.
